The Spirit Poured Out on All Flesh
Joel foresaw a day when God would pour out his spirit on 'all flesh' -- sons and daughters, old and young, even slaves -- causing them to prophesy, dream, and see visions. The apostle Peter proclaimed this fulfilled at Pentecost, when the Spirit fell on the gathered disciples in Jerusalem, and the Church has read Joel's oracle as a prophecy of Pentecost ever since.
